- Members are responsible for paying for any court that they have booked unless they cancel the court at least 36 hours in advance.
- Lessons may be booked with the club professional. The current rate for full or associate members is £39 per hour.
- When lessons are booked with another professional, it is the responsibility of this other professional to pay the court fees to MURTC Ltd. The fee charged to the member is a matter of negotiation between member and professional.
- Members will be billed monthly with an account of all their expenditure and should settle their bill as soon as possible and at the latest within 28 days of receiving it.
On and Around the Court
- Members should show respect to other members and to staff.
- When a playing session on court (typically one hour) comes to an end, players should not encroach on the following session. It is reasonable to complete a point but not a game or a set.
- Real tennis is fun but can be dangerous. Members play at their own risk and should not take undue risks through reckless play.
- Very occasionally the court may not be fit for play. In these circumstances, the advice of the club professional must be accepted.
- Members are asked to leave the changing rooms clean and tidy – and to remove all personal belongings when they leave the premises. Personal belongings left overnight may be removed and disposed of.
- The kitchen, bar and seating area may be used by members and must be left in a clean and tidy state after use.
- If members have a concern about the state of the premises (for example, the changing rooms, kitchen, bar and seating areas), they should speak in the first instance to the club professional.
- The office and work area within enclosed partitions is the domain of the club professional. While members may on occasions use this space, they should respect it as his workspace
- A computer is provided for members so that they can book courts and enter match results. The computers in the club must not be used for any other purpose. There is Wi-Fi access at the club and members are welcome to take advantage of this using their own laptops.
- These rules are for the guidance of members and staff. MURTC Ltd carries final responsibility for the management of the club and its premises – and reserves the right to cancel the membership of any member who persistently ignores or contravenes club rules.
